About Covering of God United Ministries

In December 2018, an ordinary visit to a storage facility became the beginning of a ministry vision. After helping her mother move into her home, Litonya found herself considering the building around her. It was clean, secure, and temperature-controlled. She felt God asking why people without a home could not have a place like this to live.

That question stayed with her. As she learned more about women and families facing homelessness, her concern grew into a desire to help. A longtime friend, Lisa, joined her in prayer. Together, they shared a heart for women and children seeking safety and healing after abuse and trauma.

In 2021, they turned to Psalm 91 for inspiration and chose the name Covering of God. Its message of shelter, refuge, and protection expressed the heart of their vision. The ministry was registered in July 2022, and its first board meeting followed that October.

Today, Covering of God United Ministries is in the planning and fundraising stage, working toward future housing and community connections where women and children can begin again.
